Establishment (Foundation Date, General Structure of the Program)
Çankırı Karatekin University, Çerkeş Vocational School was opened in 2015, whereas the Home Patient Care Program was opened in the year of 2022. The program started its education processes in the 2022-2023 academic year. Our program is within the scope of formal education and the language of education is Turkish.

Students are accepted with the Higher Education Institutions Exam conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center.
Rules for Recognition of Prior Learning
In Turkey and abroad in higher education institutions from Çankırı Karatekin University For students wishing to transfer to Higher Education Institutions and Bachelor’s Degree Level Between Programs in Transition, double major international institutions with minor Transfer of Credit to our university with the Regulation on the Principles relating to transfer set by the Senate Assessment Conditions apply. Horizontal Transfer Quotas are announced by the Higher Education Council. Evaluation is; it is made by the commissions formed in faculties and colleges and announced by the relevant committees.
Qualification Requirements and Rules
This degree is awarded to students who have completed all the courses in the curriculum in at least 2 years, successfully completed their internship, and provided a minimum of 120 ECTS credits and a GPA of at least 2.00 / 4.00.
Program Profile (Purpose of the Program, Structure of the Program, Areas of Orientation, Departmental Facilities)
Based on certain chronic conditions and other health problems which are constantly on the rise both in the world and in Turkey; the need for educated and well-equipped personnel in the field of home patient care has increased. With regards to this situation, the purpose of the Home Patient Care Program is to raise “Home Patient Care Technicians” who can provide the patient and his/her family with high quality and efficient psycho-social, physiological, medical and social support services within the living environment of the patient and his/her family. Within this scope, the aim of the program is to provide the necessary education in order to raise individuals who have a sense of responsibility, confidence, and who are suitable for teamwork, while equipping them with the required occupational knowledge in order to allow them to conduct home patient care applications and to protect and improve the health of their patients.
Basic Program Achievements
- Identifies the problems via the acquired knowledge in the field of home patient care and by using the required data, carries out planning and implementation processes towards solving these problems and offers a solution.
- Provides home care services within the scope of ethical values and principles
- Acquires sufficient knowledge of a foreign language and skill in terms of technology usage with regards to home patient care applications.
- Provides an effective communication process between individuals and institutions via using the knowledge, skills and communication techniques which are acquired from the field of home patient care.
- Completes the given task as an individual who has the skills of lifelong learning, creativity and innovativeness.
- Executes a task independently by using the accumulation of knowledge obtained in the field of home care.
- Acquires sufficient awareness regarding the universality of social rights, social justice, public health, occupational health and safety.
- Provides services through collaboration with colleagues within home patient care applications.
- Uses the required information-communication technologies in terms of accessing information in the field of home patient care and follows the relevant advances in the field.
- Provides services in the required fields as an individual who has technical experience, who is knowledgeable and specialized in the field of home patient care.
- Serves as a model citizen with his/her thoughts and actions.
- Takes the precautions which improves and strengthens the physical, psychological, social and economic aspects of the patients and provides home care in accordance with the specified requirements.
- Plans the required training activities with regards to the promotion and protection of health, gives the relevant education and participates in the projects and activities in his/her near neighborhood with a feeling of social responsibility.
- Acts accordingly to the quality management and processes during the period of providing health care services.
- Provides functions which contributes to health care towards groups with special needs such as children, disabled people and the elderly.
Employment Profiles of Graduates
Graduates from the program are employed in municipalities, hospitals, and non-governmental organizations where home patient care services are given; and various private institutions such as nursing homes, elderly care centers, homes for weak individuals, day care centers for the elderly and home patient care services.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Vertical transfer of graduates from Vocational Schools to undergraduate programs that are a continuation of their fields; The provisions of the Regulation on the Continuation of Graduate Education of Vocational Schools and Open Education Associate Degree Programs are applied. The quotas allocated by the university are reported to the OSYM Presidency. These declared quotas and conditions are announced in the Vertical Transfer Guide prepared by ÖSYM. Placement procedures are carried out centrally by OSYM according to the results of the Vertical Transfer Exam.
Graduates of the Elderly Care Program can vertically transfer to Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Gerontology, Nursing, Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Health Management and Social Service departments with the Vertical Transfer Exam organized by OSYM.
Exams, Measurement and Evaluation
The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the course introduction form prepared by the relevant faculty member / s and included in the information package. The relevant articles of Çankırı Karatekin University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation and Çerkeş Vocational School Teaching and Examination Application Principles are applied regarding the exams and course success grades.
Graduation Conditions
This degree is awarded to students who have completed all the courses in the curriculum in at least 2 years, successfully completed their internship for 30 business days (6 weeks), provide a minimum of 120 ECTS credits, and have a GPA of at least 2.00 / 4.00.Çalışma
